Full condo renovation in Kirkland, Washington.

A condo kitchen with matte deep green cabinets, marble counters and slim arched pendant lights
Location
Kirkland, Washington
Scope
Full condo renovation

A whole condominium, taken back far enough to move the plumbing and rebuilt as one idea rather than six rooms that happen to share an address.

The green runs everywhere: matte on the kitchen fronts, fluted on the island and the entry cabinetmaking, glazed and vertical on the guest bath wall. Against it, three things and no more. Marble on the counters, brass on everything you touch, and a single dark stone that lines the primary bath floor to ceiling.

The arched pendants over the peninsula are the one deliberately odd note in a project that is otherwise very disciplined, and they are the thing everybody photographs.

Photographs

The arcs, which were the owners' idea and the right one
Fluted fronts milled in our shop, marble returned to the floor
White above, green below, so the ceiling stays where it is
The entry: coats, shoes and a mirror, all of it built in
The primary bath is one stone, floor to ceiling
Light behind the mirror rather than above it
Warm stone and brass, against the dark of the rest
Unlacquered brass, which will go darker and should
The guest bath takes the same green, glazed and vertical
The sink is cut from the same block as the counter
