A small house that needed to feel bigger without getting bigger. The wall between the kitchen and the dining room came out and the island took its place.

Pale wood below, white above, and a terrazzo floor that carries through both rooms so the eye does not stop at a threshold.

The shelving is deliberately short. Long open shelves collect things; two short ones stay tidy.
